#282 Banjo Bridge

More banjo fun, I've been investigating the Windsor popular number three and William Tillman (?) zither banjo. This is the suspected Tillman possibly...

#281 Banjo

I am a very lucky and excited amateur stringed instrument repairer today. I was given a lovely pair of banjos, in need of a little bit of surgery and rebuilding by one of my lovely ex students. Many, many thanks Chris and the best of luck in Glasgow (I assume banjos are not allowed in Glasgow) also you can have a gander at his prints here (don't worry I'm not Stephen Fry so you won't take the website down if you all follow the link at once!)

#280 Disabled Parking Sign

You all know I love a good sign and as today marks the beginning of the Paralympics I thought it would be good opportunity to draw one of the disabled parking spaces at work. If you found the Olympics emotional, just wait.

#279 Possible Pixie Hole

I have consulted with my esteemed friend Mr Wellington Drawe about this hole in my studio floor, he is somewhat of an expert on such things. You can discover more by visiting him in his natural environment at his blog http://www.wellingtondrawe.blogspot.com Today he expands on the possible uses for this hole of mine. Wise words, I encourage you to heed them well, dear followers.

#269 Pattern

I have been rummaging through Debbie's www.debbiemade.blogspot.com patterned fabric collection. This little african swatch caught my eye, probably because it is black and yellow - the colour of danger! A la wasps and health and safety tape.this isn't dangerous though.

#264 Cream Slice

A slice of cream cake for my little sister (well, she is littler than me!) oh, and by the way this type of cake is very messy to eat when you don't use eating tools, like a knife and fork.

#263 Gold Post Box

I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed the Olympics, I have been an avid fan since the 1980 Olympics with Daley Thompson and Coe and Ovett et al. And this one was a doozi! One of the great asides from all the medal winning was the Royal Mail issuing stamps for each gold medal winner and painting a postbox in the medallists home town. Cheltenham is lucky enough to be home to Alex Gregory from the men's four rowing team. Here is his gold box, shame its a boxy square one but there you go! I had to paint it and I have waited till the final day, it seemed fitting.

But....what am I going to do now it's over?

#261 Buttons and thread

There is a lot of brightly coloured bits of thread and material and buttons around the house at the minute, which is great when you go looking for bright colourful things to make digital paintings of.

#253 Bike Helmet

Bike helmets are in the news today for the best and worse reason. So, this is my helmet, I bet the likes of Hoy, Wiggins and Pendleton don't have spiders living in theirs.

#251 Horse Sign

Back to my Olympic themed pics, this one is for the Equestrian Silver medal GBR won this morning. This road sign always looks like its doing dressage to me, which was yesterday, but I am playing fast and loose with my theming Today was show jumping and there isn't a road sign for that!
